Before you upload

Tips for a clearer transcript

Lossless audio preserves the recording, including any noise. Clear speech still matters most.

  • Skip the MP3 conversion

Upload your FLAC file directly to transcribe it.

  • Lossless isn’t always clearer

FLAC cannot fix background noise or voices recorded too far from the microphone.

  • Check the length

The maximum supported FLAC duration is 60 minutes per file.

  • Check files that won’t open

If the file is damaged or won’t play, export a fresh copy and try again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is FLAC to text free?

Yes. You can upload and transcribe FLAC files with NowText for free, without signing in.

How do I convert FLAC to TXT?

Upload your FLAC file and start transcription. Open the result, check the text, then use Download to save a .txt file.

Do I need to convert FLAC to MP3 first?

No. Upload the FLAC file directly. MP3, WAV and OGG files are also supported.

How long can my FLAC file be?

NowText supports FLAC audio files up to 60 minutes long. For longer audio, trim the sections you need or split it into shorter files before uploading.

Is FLAC transcription more accurate than MP3?

Not necessarily. FLAC preserves the recorded audio without further loss, but clear voices and low background noise matter more than the file format.

Can I export SRT subtitles?

SRT export is not currently supported. You can view timestamps, edit the transcript, and download the text as TXT.

What if the transcript has mistakes?

Click a sentence to replay the audio, then edit the text. Background noise and overlapping voices can affect recognition.

How can I get help?

Email [email protected] or send feedback below. Include the file format and what went wrong.

Have a video instead?
